Genesis

GV 60

It's a rather rare opportunity to meet the chief designer of a car before a shoot. It was fascinating to listen to Luc Donckerwolke as he explained his design concept for the GV 60 and talked about what was important to him in the design process. He drew the comparison with a stone that had been lying in a river for a long time and had been moulded by it, and how it caresses our hands today. A floating design whose continuous lines are uninterrupted by anything. Nothing more was needed; it was clear how the camera would move to visualise his ideas.

I was able to integrate the emblematic two-line design DNA of Genesis into the set design and bring it to life with moving light.

Organic caustic light reflections created an almost mystical atmosphere. I spent a lot of time testing suitable materials and building studio models before we went into the studio for two days of shooting.
